2007 character here and I love the new inventory system, mainly because its way more intuitive than the old one. Relearning it was simple and the new filter system makes finding any item I want in my hanger a piece of cake.

Giving them time to modify it based on peoples feedback is not something I have an issue with either, its just something that happens when you change something in a system, especially one as old and complex as EVE.

If you genuinely feel you cant support EVE any more after these changes then fine thats your preogative but please spare us the hyperbolic ranting, insults directed at the dev team and tinfoil ridden bullshit that gets sperged all over the forums everytime something like this comes up.

Since I doubt most of you making this empty little threat have actually ever checked theres a whole section of the unsubbing process where you can tell CCP in detail exactly why you arent renewing your sub any more. I suggest you use it instead of shitting up the forums every time you get slightly offended.

Having a blast playing Civ 5 after all these years. New expansion on June 12 adds 10 Religions. Should be an interesting new mechanic.

Seriously though, what's so hard about it? Have you guys never used windows explorer? There may still be some bugs in the current implementation, but there is considerably more functionality in the new inventory system.

- Quick overview of the worth of assets in ISK
- Ships and cargo containers have become folders easily accessible from ONE single window
- Filtering out items (both on name and category) so you can more easily find what you are looking for in crowded folders

I AM using it right now. This isn't anything CCP invented either, if this was a bad file management system, it wouldn't have been used in every single iteration of Windows since 3.11. In EVE It requires some getting used to after using the old system for so long, but I suspect the learning curve to be rather low.

I do agree though that CCP should have kept the option to use the old system as well though. We still have DOS in Windows too after all.

Since you asked nicely I'll indulge you.

Looting and mining I'll cover in one because based on the way I do things it pretty much works the same. I now no longer have to drag what I wish to place in my cargo hold down to the button representing it. I simply open the wreck/my jetcan and oh look, I get a handy tree menu that has my ships cargo hold on it as welll as my wreck/jetcan and I can drag and drop to my hearts content, assuming of course i dont simply click loot all and move on to the next one/empty the jetcan and warp off. It may only save me 2cm of mouse pointer movement whenever I want to do this but hey you never said how much easier it had to make things.

POSes I have less experience with, pretty much just a single tower with a maintenance array and a couple of hangers but to be honest it works the same, i find what i want in the tree menu and drag and drop if i want to move things around. Yes its up to me to make sure im in range of all the things i want to use at once but how is that any different from the old system?

Now I accept that if you have large tower setups as some people have said they have that this system does throw up some annoyances but to me it looks like these issues are being addressed as and when theres enough useful feedback to justify making a change.

Also +1 to pretty much everything Ranger 1 has said over the last couple of pages.

I think they make updates that they think people will like, maybe not stuff that was specifically asked for, but most people tend to like surprises. Its jsut that here, lots of people get buttmad if it isn't exactly what they wanted, or if it doesn't work quite right out of the box and needs a few fixes applied to it.

Think of it this way, if your mom bought you a really, really nice watch for christmas, but when you opened it it wasn't exactly the one you had wanted, or maybe the face was cracked on accident or it didn't fit. Would you scream in her face, tell her how worthless she is, and demand that she make this right?

What is with the community behind this game? The developer has every right to change something to what they think is better for the interface the players use. There's no issue with the change, everything feels more streamlined and I use less space.

If you're seriously going to shed tears over each change that happens per patch, you may as well unsubscribe without the tears on the forums and spend your time, oh I don't know, doing something productive. Then people might not get scared off by the ass-hattery that constantly rears it's ugly head.

I'll give them one more month to pull something allegedly used for logical thought out of an unseemly orifice. Using some ingame isk to do the reverse redeem thing just in case they do start listening again at some point in the future. I do like the game, but I don't like where they're taking it as opposed to the past when I couldn't wait for the next expansion to come out.

Not reading 40 pages, the new inventory is awesome imo. You hate change, adapt or pray to whatever god you believe in, that the icelanders wtll give both options(highly unlikely).
